Best practice is for companies to do a "key dates" announcement each year spelling out the timetable for shareholders in the following 12 months. Here are some good examples.

ANZ: made this key dates announcement for 2024 on November 2, 2023, including that the 2024 AGM would be on Thursday, December 19. That's almost 14 months notice.

CBA: made this key dates announcement for 2024 on August 9, 2023, the same day as its annual results. That's 14 months notice for the 2024 AGM on October 16.

NAB: announced all the 2024 dates on November 22, 2023 including director nominations deadline on October 15 and the AGM on Wednesday, December 18.

Suncorp: December 20, 2021 - even includes deadline for board nominations.
