In the true spirit of democracy, social media commentary is becoming more than a pastime for some. We thought we would put together our top 5 most commentated videos.

Australia is selling the farm to China
Why is there no-one else speaking out on Chinese government takeovers?
May 07, 2008

tacotony24: why complain??? Australia's resources belong to the Aborigines
6evorev6: You ever notice on Americorp TV it's always a F'in woman that talks down to anyone or using a demeaning tone of voice when speaking to guests critical of MONEY MAKING!!!
2Roo7ted: A Nation growth depends upon resources, the Japs entered WW2 because it lack the natural resources to feed the nation growth and war machine. Believe it or not most the 20th century politics were over aquiring resources, and not human rights and democracy, that was just an excuse so the people had something righteous to believe in. China is trying to get control as much resources as possible, He who controls the resources controls the world. War between the West and China is on the cards
OzzyPatriot : NO. China is Rothschild's China bank. Rothschild's own Rio tinto.. Rothschild's fund the Chinese government. See! My deluded Aussie friends. We're being scammed by the NWO. The Zionist Rothschild's appear as Chinese here in Aussie idiot land. Thats a cool prank. Gee. The Zionists screw us and we blame yellow people. Cool! I wish I was a NWO elite scum bag with the power of delusion of the masses. Thank GOD the Rothschild's have the ADC here in AU since 1979 to create their illusions. Bye!
elviselvis07: Charles Darwin was right about a lot of things but fell a bit short... Australians for the most part are isolated from the realities of conflict which their parents/grandparents/great grandparents may have faced. Industry does not necessarily do what is best for a country. This is what the Americans had to find out the hard way.
9MiddleKingdom9: Hi dear Australians, I am a Chinese. This is what you can do
1. Don't sell to China
2. Don't buy "Made in China" stuff
Complain and nag for what? We Chinese log in to YouTube and everyday we are "taking over the planet" You play Red Alert 10? Remember Australia has the OPTION NOT TO SELL
elviselvis07: I think that's the point the guy was making. I don't think that it is China's fault to desire prosperity. It is also Australia's prerogative to desire prosperity too... if they still have enough brain cells to rub together and work out 1+1=2.
davidluk8: Hillary Clinton is funny at 2:05. She just went to China in Feb asking China to buy US debt.
australiamatters: Well lookie lookie, this week in the Courier Mail "China bankrolling Kevin Rudd's stimulus plan by buying government bonds". Yes, "$200 billion dollars" of worth. I sent back that $900 bribe from comrade Rudd. My country is worth more to me than a plasma big screen made by gulag staff on short lunch breaks.
MrMuzz007: Yes. A very insightful report. It is even more relevant today, when China via its sovereign owned companies are moving in on Oz Minerals which was worth $3.50 per share and now the Chinese are offering a "generous" (not) 85 cents per share to buy it. The Chinese Govt will then own the 2nd biggest zinc mine in the world. I wonder how long it will take before they then invoke the 457 visa to replace our aussie workers with their chinese coolies?
nnbb2008: "China Communist investment"?? Typical cold-war style tone. Please study some fundamental theory about communism. Investment is even not allowed by communism.
djonutube: Scare mongering again... typical!
drinkcokeitsgood: I guess Australians are getting a lil' softer nowadays. Why can't you all speak out against these chinks who swamp your country by the thousands every single day? Well I guess I can say goodbye to Australia now cause soon I can call it china/korea/japan then.
Tris061985: I think the Question that should be asked "what market access should we be allowed to invest in Chinese property or land". I agree with open free trade. So chinese companies should be allowed to invest in australia. But this should be regulated on the reforms taking place in china. Chinese concern about forign ownership has prohibted non-chinese leasing almost any kind of property or land for investment.
This kind of system would punish or reward china for its open economy. This is my thought
nnbb2008: I heard about that China share market is much more risky, and it is not well regulated compared with share markets in western countries. I don't think foreign investors are willing to get involved. Most foreign investments to China are used on something "real", like building facory or house.
donharrold: First, you are absolutely correct on your premise. I agree with you that China is - literally - buying us all. But, don't be fooled by Hillary Clinton. Her and Bill are 100% global elitists who would sell their children for a piece of the action.
atomicapeboy: "concerns expressed by the Americans" - Hilary Clinton is unlikely to win the primaries, I dont think she can be considered the voice of the Americans. WRT the buy up, this is not some conspiracy, we (All Australians) set up the conditions by which this can take place by our own policies and inability to save money. This should be less of a discussion on the evil chinese and more of a discussion on the stupid australians. Thats my 2c.

Banging the drum on Today Tonight
Some of these grabs are almost sounding xenophobic.

MrsKitch1: Now the Australian Government has foolishly allowed the Chinese Government to own Australia's Felix Resources (FLX) via the Chinese Government owned Yanzhous takeover of Felix.
Is there anyone in the Australian Government with any vision or understanding of what their naivety now, will ultimately lead to?
KenEdMurray: You were ahead of your time along with Dick Smith and others in this Report. Keep up the good work
MrMuzz007: Well done Stephen. Another eye opening wake up call for us Aussies to be alert to Chinese Government takeovers of our richest and best companies and resources. Good on you Dick Smith, too! What is not realised is that Japan has signed an Agreement with China in 2008 to cooperate mutually with each other in carving up the melon ...and we are the melon.

Bank Bashing on A Current Affair

Outrageous fees from banks for people wanting to exit there fixed term rates as interest rates tumble.
December 02, 2008

australiamatters: I emailed the RBA last month and ask them what the production cost for one [1] Australian $100 note is. They emailed back and told me "between 10 and 20 cents" each. I might email them back and ask them how much a 20 cent coin costs to make. I'm guessing around 5 cents. Cheap IOU notes not backed by gold since 1933 is great fun, for the RBA.
tylerthomaslive: I too have been mortified by the Commonwealth Early Setlement fees. My mortgage was fixed at 8% in December 2007 and I sold my property recently only to find out this shocking undisclosed $27,000 FEE?
Not only does this break me financially but I feel similar hatred to this Bank and my entire family is in the process of pulling all assets/ funds/loans and investments out of this bank which we've been banking with for 25 years. Is this how Commenwealth treats its loyal customers?
TravisMorien: I'm not sure that we can take it for granted that if people were told about large costs to unfix if rates went down dramatically they wouldn't have fixed. The reason why they were fixing was because they were convinced rates were going up, so I wonder really if such a warning would have been paid attention to. That said, if people were really told that the maximum they would pay to break the contract regardless of the direction of rates was a couple of hundred dollars, heads should roll.

We kidnap giant killer Nick Xenophon.
Nick Xenophon will win a senate seat at this election and he explains how from the back seat of our car.
November 04, 2007

uncreativeranter: why aren't there more politicians like Xenophon that don't get corrupted!
iamanonwearelegion: I think hes the best senator for any country ever lol.
trudyandgeorge: I've reached here learning of Nick from his (hopefully!) opposing position on the clean feed Aussie-web filter. Apparently his individual senate vote may be the decider on any filter-legislation due to the current composition of the Senate. I've looked on wiki however if someone could break-down the current composition of the senate I would be appreciative.
noyaenermy: anominos lol you call me brainwashed. you are so ignorant you wouldnt even see it if it smacked you in the face. Ive got one more great site for you anti Australian anominos which is downundernewslinks and your guilty of all these disgusting crimes Traitor. Whitelaw towers a great blog fighting the true Fascists
iamanonwearelegion: Oh on the contrary, when Scientologists "smack us in the face" we usualy get it on video and tell the police and put it on youtube.

webologist: Good Luck Stephen, I want you to get elected, But I think you will have as much luck as you did getting on the board of the RACV... maybe you should get your wife to run...
breadvanner: Keeping the bastar#s honest will be hard, banks and pollies are all liars. When smirky said that they owe nothing NET, isthat the get out of jail word. Go steven.

sirmunchalot: more informed views as to why the Howard govt is deceptively cunning. thank you stephen. but you did forget his famous position on workchoices...will this be policy if he becomes PM? "you would have a minimum (wage) and then, as much as possible, free negotiation over that minimum." The Age, 19 Feb, 2005
